DAY 3: A Reconsideration of The Specification

My brief proposes that I will be extracting textual mediums and transmuting them into visual mediums. The purpose of this conversion is to bring a deeper and richer meaning to the material. My specification then, are the texts that I am going to convert. Although up to now I have not made the specification explicit because I am improvising, I would like to add a new idea to the process of the conversion.

In reading The Structure Of Magic (John Grinder, Richard Bandler) they explain the way in which people represent their world linguistically to themselves and others. Richard and John also teach their Meta Model - the method of discovering and expanding people's representation of the world so they have more internal choices. This is perfect for my study of converting words into images. How can I recover the deletions? Specify generalizations? And richen the distortions people make through their language and then translate it into a visual language? This process will indeed be challenging but I feel a beauty of this theory as I learn it. It's the understanding of how the vast, rich and complex web of stored sensation and perceptions conceptualized into linguistic manifestations.

My next challenge is how to make these illustrative conversions interactive, like an interface between the visualization and the audience. I have an ambiguity on this subject in this moment in time. My voyage in learning OOP and Action Script are for the purposes to render this project to be an interactive one. Ideas will come in time.

Open your senses and perceptions then your concepts of the world will expand.
