For the good part of three hours I have been investigating a great extension for Flash's Action Script classes. Papervision3D has the ability to bring 3D into Flash. This is of huge benefit for me and I imagine for other Flash developers. PV3D is open source so I have a copy myself. I have the task now of learning how to use it. Gratefully there are many sources on the internet that I can refer to learning it. Before I invested any time and efforts into learning it I wanted to explore some examples of what people have created by using PV3D.
The link for this animation can be found here, link. It is very interesting to see that on the exterior of these stacked primitives is an outer glow. This must be an applied filter in AS.
Here is another interesting example of this kind of effect but it is interactive with the direction of your mouse. Link.
Another mouse event movie with applied filters. This is a great experiment for creating depth of field in a 3D environment. The link to is is here, Link.
This application navigates you through a 3D catalogue. You can click on the items and explore the products presented inside of them. Link
Above is the showreel for PV3D. It's very impressive and ecstatic to see the possibilities. If the video does not work then go straight to this link.
